The standard TG900D kit for larger buildings with above average height of ceilings.

It is possible to increase the size of this kit to four internal transmitting domes but to be able to give you proper advice it is important to see the building plans before commenting.

GSM 900 Networks. In the UK, Vodafone and O2 use GSM 900.

The TG900SD kit is very suitable for larger houses and buildings of a rather more commercial nature. These tend to be used where the TX kits don't have quite enough power or versatility over which areas of the building truly need mobile connectivity.

The kit is supplied with two internal dome antennae but this can be increased to as many as six repeaters. Two are usually enough for quite a large building. This kit tends to be used when there is a mobile signal strength of at least two bars outside the house on three sides but very little or no signal inside the building

Picture enclosed which shows how the TG900DS kit with two internal dome antennae fits together.

The elements in the picture are as follows. On the left is the stick antenna which is multi directional and needs mounting relatively high and well unobstructed. Supplied are three fifteen meter cables and one five meter cables. The TG processor unit is blue and is at the bottom of the picture. The Stick antennae is coupled to this with a fifteen meter cable in this picture and a five meter cable is used to connect the processor to the junction box. The aforementioned junction box is the grey rectangular box with one connection in and two connectors going out. These have a pair of fifteen meter cables connecting to the two dome antennas. No adaptors are needed in this kit.

These dome aerials are best if fitted to the ceilings in an establishment owing to their transmission pattern, i.e. broad and wide but without huge depth. One way of installing them is in the floor space between ground floor and the next one up. Place them back to back, one facing upwards and the other downwards and you will have connectivity without seeing unsightly domes.

Most customers for these more complex kits will use their favourite electrician to install the system. This means that the wiring is kept very tidy. The main TG processor and the junction box are usually situated in the roof space. The Stick antenna is plugged into The TG processor where it is marked BTS. This is the end where the on/off switch is located together with the indicator light. The cable leading to the junction box plugs into the main processor unit at the port marked MS.

Ideally try to arrange things so that the TG1800 unit is placed where it can be got at easily with the external aerial socket facing you. This means that when everything is working smoothly and communication suddenly fails, it is easy to check whether the unit is switched on. The only time that this has happened to me is when a fuse had blown due to the same circuit being overloaded by the use of some major power tools.

If your technician has any problems, then call us on 01935 891046 and we will talk them through it. Do bear in mind that all mobile phone users in the building need to be using the same group of providers so as to achieve total connectivity for everyone.
