About Mobdev Ltd
The idea of forming MobDev
took hold in June 2007. The founder, Michael Dene had moved into Crockermoor
Farm House and although the habitation was so good in a myriad of ways,
mobile phones just failed to show any signal strength at all. At this point it is worth saying that over the last thirty years, Michael Dene has launched several new products into the UK including the Craft King range of Post Drivers, the concept and actuality of ‘sheep netting’ made from high tensile wire rather than mild steel with enormous advantages that we won’t go into here, permanent electric fencing using 12.5 gauge spring steel wire and finally building a clothing business called Denewear and specializing in quality garments from the likes of R M Williams and Swanndri, amongst others.
MobDev is short for Mobile
Development. When Michael Dene realized that there was no one in the
UK, or even within Europe, that had a solution for poor mobile phone
signal problems, he started to research the companies around the world
that might be able to help. America, Africa, Indonesia and so on but
with every single company that he researched, there was a problem such
as lack of tight frequency control, ugly surface mountings and so on. It was at about this time that he became aware of a company called RFIP based up near Oxford. This organization markets a whole range of highly technical kit for a wide range of specialized communication needs and amongst this aforementioned complex range, they offered a solution to poor or non-existent mobile phone connectivity. Unlike us, they have found an ultra forward thinking company whose products looked as though they might fit Europe’s mobile connectivity needs admirably. Michael Dene met with the directors of RFIP and from then on, things and ideas started to grow. Michael Dene was looking for a solution for those with apparently insuperable problems in achieving mobile phone connectivity. He also learnt that there were nearly a million houses built in the last four years that would never have a mobile phone signal because of the nature of the obligatory insulation that has a foil backing. This was the realization leading to the creation of MobDev. RFIP and MobDev agreed to work together. We were all on a learning curve but as the months went by sensible kits evolved whereby a household suffering from connection problems could be healed with the provision of the appropriate kit and which in many cases can be installed by the householders themselves. Just recently, MobDev has realized that not only can we help frustrated G3, but that we can also provide a reasonably fast internet access for those unable to obtain a hard wired broadband connection by using the TX2200 kit! MobDev’s offices are based in the West Country and they now hold a considerable quantity of stock so as to solve almost every mobile communication problem anywhere within Europe. Early next year they hope to launch the best vehicle mounted kits to be found anywhere in the World and which will be a boon for those who travel all over the country and of particular use to delivery drivers and to all those who need to stay in contact with their customers, clients and family and so on, wherever they find themselves!
